A Dutch research team has proven that taking a (hot to-) cold shower leads to 29% less sickness absence. People also experienced higher energy levels by a daily routine of taking a (hot to-) cold shower.

 

We want to share these spectacular results and our aim is to stimulate people to join the Cool Challenge: 30 days of taking a (hot to-) cold shower. You can start any time!

A daily cold shower leads to incredible results. Want to experience the benefits of a cold shower yourself? Join the Cool Challenge. On January 1st, thousands of people will start taking a (hot to-) cold shower. Because it works. And because it is cool!

 

You will receive a daily news letter with funny anecdotes, insights, and nice things to know about taking cold showers.

Scientific evidence

 

3018 people participated in the Cool Challenge, a research of the Academic Medical Center of Amsterdam. Participants took a (hot to-) cold shower for 0, 30, 60 or 90 seconds. The spectacular results were published last october:

 

  • 29 percent less sickness absence for the groups taking cold showers
  • increase in perceived energy levels
  • No difference if 30, 60 or 90 seconds. The positive effect started at 30 seconds
  • 79% completed the daily cold shower for 30 days
  • More than 90% wanted to continue the routine of taking a cold shower
  • More than 60% actually kept this routine of taking a cold shower after three months
