- To let you experience the benefits of cold showering: of creating an easy and effective way of maintaining a healthy body; of boosting your energy levels in the comfort of your own home.
- To have you contribute to the international survey. This will help us know more about the effects of a cold shower on health.
- To see the effects of cold showers on the impact of yearly influenza, on a global scale.
30 days Cool Challenge
A daily cold shower leads to incredible results. Want to experience the benefits of a cold shower yourself? Join the Cool Challenge. On January 1st, thousands of people will start taking a (hot to-) cold shower. Because it works. And because it is cool!
You will receive a daily news letter with funny anecdotes, insights, and nice things to know about taking cold showers.

3018 people participated in the Cool Challenge, a research of the Academic Medical Center of Amsterdam. Participants took a (hot to-) cold shower for 0, 30, 60 or 90 seconds. The spectacular results were published last october:
- 29 percent less sickness absence for the groups taking cold showers
- increase in perceived energy levels
- No difference if 30, 60 or 90 seconds. The positive effect started at 30 seconds
- 79% completed the daily cold shower for 30 days
- More than 90% wanted to continue the routine of taking a cold shower
- More than 60% actually kept this routine of taking a cold shower after three months
